Add a contact in Skype in Windows XP

Note: These instructions apply to Skype running on Windows XP.

  1. Open Skype on Windows XP.
  2. Your Skype main page will open and show your contact list.
  3. Horizontally, there will be four icons: a house, a phone, a group, and a single person with a + sign.
  4. Click on the single person with the + sign.
  5. The Add Contact window will open and have a search bar.
  6. Type the name of the person you want to add into the search bar.
  7. Wait for the search results to show.
  8. Read through the search result until you find the person you want to add.
  9. Right click on that person’s contact card.
  10. Choose Add to Contacts.
  11. A window will open that has composed an invite for that contact.
  12. Click Send.
